an energy revolution

Casa Rosa is the result of a renovation and energy redevelopment of a former barn that is part of a small aggregate of historic buildings located next to the Certosa di Firenze. With regard to the renovation, the first objective was to modify internal distribution and construction materials compared to a previous intervention in the mid-twentieth century that had introduced various incongruous elements.

The interior spaces have been reorganized and put in communication with each other through new openings and the relationship with the surrounding landscape has been redefined thanks to a new design of the facades, with new openings and single-leaf windows. In terms of energy, we have completely insulated the entire casing through the use of natural materials such as the thermal coat in reed marsh, replaced the fixtures and installed a new plant in heat pump, managing to obtain a building in energy class A3 with a global EP of 36,677 kWh/m2/year.
